Iran, Russia to expand bilateral ties

October 31, IFIF public relation- The Conference of Iran and Russia, was held with the participation of Iranian economic activists, Deputy Chairman of the Committee Head of Foreign Trade department of Volgograd province, and Vice President of Volgograd Chamber of Commerce and the board members of Iran and Russia joint Chamber of Commerce.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of Iran and Russia joint Chamber of Commerce, Kaveh Zargaran noted the importance of relations between the two countries in the field of food and agriculture and said "By removing trade, banking and customs barriers, dramatic growth in the volume of trade relations between the two countries will be definitely seen."
The meeting which was allocated to review the problems and obstacles in the way of trade cooperation between the two countries, Iranian businessmen have criticized the lack of implementation of “Green Corridors” memorandum of understanding between Iran and Russia.
Board member of Iran, Russia Joint Chamber of Commerce and Secretary General of Federation of Iranian food Associations Kaveh Zargaran voiced that “The volume of imports from Russia has declined over the past 5 years. In 2011 the value of export to Russia stood at 370 million dollars and in 2015 reached to 194 million dollars. Meanwhile the value of import from Russia in the same period indicating a decline from 770 million dollars to 517 million dollars.”
Zargaran underlined the Russian food protocols for Iranian products issued from their related authorized organizations, as well as Iran's ability to supply products to the Russian market.
In terms of essential commodities like wheat, corn, barley, sunflower oil Russia is suitable resource for Iran, he added.
Chairman of Iran and Russia joint Chamber of Commerce Asadollah Askaroladi also held talks in this meeting and called for boosting mutual cooperation.
